Flat Roofs
If you have bitumen felt or lead roof, fibreglass is the perfect choice for its replacement. This is not simply a botch or repair job, we usually fully strip the roof back to the joists. This not only gets back to the original falls of the roof but it also allows us to upgrade your insulation should it be required. We use a moisture resistant tongued and grooved board to deck the roof with.
Pre-formed fibreglass trims are bonded and mechanically fixed around the perimeter of the roof giving an appearance that is superior to any other system on the market. We have an extensive range of fibreglass trims to suit all applications, the trims are generally used where we have a change of angle in the roof detail. The trim gives the roof the flexibility required when thermal expansion may affect the roof.
The roof area is laminated with a single layer of 450 gm chopped strand mat to reinforce the polyester resin. The roof is finished off with a topcoat resin that fully bonds to the laminate to prevent peeling or flaking. The topcoat is usually pigmented in our standard dark grey colour or you may specify another colour to suit your requirements.
